                          CHAIRMAN'S AGM STATEMENT


John Poulter, Chairman, will make the following statement at today's Annual
General Meeting:



'Trading during the first four months of the year has been positive and
consistent with our expectations of 'encouraging progress in 2005' as indicated
at the Preliminary Results announcement in March. The initiatives to support
organic growth, to improve operating margins and to focus on cash management are
making progress.'
