DIRECTORATE CHANGE
15 January 2019 - The Board of Spectris plc (SXS: LSE), the productivity-enhancing instrumentation and controls company, announces that after 12 years as Group Finance Director, Clive Watson has decided to retire from the Board. The Board also announces that it has recruited Derek Harding to succeed Clive. Derek will join the Board as Chief Financial Officer Designate on 1 March and will work closely with Clive during March to ensure a smooth transition. Clive will step down from the Board and the role of Group Finance Director no later than 1 April when Derek will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer.
Derek brings a wide range of financial leadership and industrial expertise to Spectris. He most recently served as group finance director at Shop Direct. Prior to that, Derek was group finance director at Senior plc from 2013 to 2017 and before that, was at Wolseley plc for 11 years, most recently as finance director of Wolseley UK. He previously held a number of group roles including group financial controller, director of group strategy and investor relations, and head of mergers and acquisitions. Derek qualified as a chartered accountant with PwC.
