                       DISPOSAL OF ARCOM CONTROL SYSTEMS





Spectris plc announces the completion of the sale of its Arcom Control Systems
business to Eurotech S.p.A. in accordance with the option agreement signed on 3
February 2006.



The total consideration was US$26 million on a debt and cash-free basis.
