Speedy Hire Plc
('Speedy Hire' or the 'Group')
Acquisition of Simons Construction's Internal Hire Division and Establishment of
Four Year Hire Contract
Speedy Hire announces the acquisition of the internal hire operations of Simons
Construction Limited, a large privately owned construction company, for a cash
consideration of £0.5 million.
The consideration has been based on net asset value and no goodwill is expected
to arise on the acquisition.
As part of this acquisition Speedy Hire has entered into an innovative four year
agreement for the supply of equipment and provision of hire desk services to
Simons Construction. The agreement includes minimum levels of revenue and is
consistent with Speedy Hire's strategy of providing value added services to
major construction companies.
This acquisition is the third in the current financial year and adds a further
depot to the network in addition to the 18 depots and 25 on site facilities
which were acquired as part of the acquisitions of Multi Group and Coates
Rentair in August 2004.
John Brown, Chief Executive, said:
'Speedy Hire is the fastest growing hire company in the U.K. and Simons Group is
a very well respected private construction company. We are delighted to have
established an innovative long term agreement for equipment hire and hire desk
services together.'
