                       New Chief Executive at Speedy Hire



As announced at the AGM in July 2004, the Board of Speedy Hire Plc is pleased to
confirm the appointment of Steve Corcoran as Chief Executive with effect from
today.  Steve is currently Chief Operating Officer of Speedy Hire, a position he
has held for the last four years.



John Brown, Speedy Hire's founder and retiring Chief Executive will step down
from the Board at the AGM in July, but until then will continue in a full time
role.



David Wallis, Chairman, said 'I am sure I speak for all shareholders, customers
and employees in acknowledging the huge contribution made by John Brown to both
Speedy Hire and our industry over the past 27 years.  Nonetheless I am confident
that in Steve Corcoran we have a first class Chief Executive leading a first
class team and having worked closely with John over the last 14 years, I am sure
that he will continue the growth and development of Speedy Hire'.
