                            Appointment of Director



The board of Speedy Hire is pleased to announce the appointment of Claudio
Veritiero as Chief Operating Officer and as an executive director of Speedy Hire
Plc with immediate effect.



Claudio, 34, graduated from Birmingham University and joined the Investment
Banking arm of Rothschild. He joined Speedy Hire in 2004, initially in Business
Development with responsibility for acquisitions and strategic development. He
later became Managing Director of Speedy Lifting, overseeing the acquisition and
integration of Lifting Gear Hire and built the business into the clear UK market
leader in its field.



Claudio will be responsible for all of Speedy Hire's operational activities in
the UK, reporting directly to the Group's Chief Executive, Steve Corcoran.



Chairman of Speedy Hire Plc, David Wallis commented:

been with the Company for a number of years and his broad operational and
industry experience will further add to Speedy's senior management team and
support the company's continued growth and expansion.'



Speedy Hire confirms that there is no other information to be disclosed under
