               Appointment of Group Business Development Director


Speedy Hire Plc announces the appointment of Andrew Simpson as Group Business
Development Director.  This executive appointment to the Group Board takes place
with immediate effect.



Andrew will focus on continuing the expansion of the Group and will work closely
with the other members of the executive board, particularly Steve Corcoran, the
Chief Operating Officer.



Andrew joins from Rothschild, Speedy Hire's financial adviser.  He is well known
to the board as he advised it during the Group's transformation from Allen Plc
to Speedy Hire Plc, on subsequent acquisitions and its recently increased
banking facilities.



David Wallis, Chairman, said:

Speedy Hire in its development over recent years and his skill set will
complement and strengthen the executive board and help the continued growth and
development of the Group.'
