                                  BOARD CHANGE



The Board of Speedy Hire Plc announces that its Finance Director, Neil O'Brien,
has informed the Board of his intention to leave the Group after eight years of
sterling service, in order to pursue other opportunities.



To facilitate a smooth transition of responsibilities, Neil has agreed to remain
in his role and as a member of the Speedy Hire Board until the publication of
the Group's results for the year ending 31 March 2008, unless a successor is
found before this time.  The external search for a new Finance Director will now
commence and a further announcement will be made in due course.



Chairman of Speedy Hire Plc, David Wallis, commented:



'On behalf of Board I would like to thank Neil for his long standing
contribution to the Group. Neil joined us as Finance Director in June 1999 and
has played a significant role in building Speedy into the market leading
business that it is today.



Neil's intention to remain with the Company until his successor is appointed, to
ensure a smooth transition, is typical of his commitment and we wish him very
well in the future.



I am pleased to report that the integration of Hewden Tools is progressing well
and that Speedy continues to trade well and in line with market expectations. A
more detailed update will be included in the pre-close trading statement to be
issued on 27 September 2007.'
