                     Appointment of Non-Executive Director



Speedy Hire announces the appointment as a non-executive director of Michael
Averill with effect from 1 May 2008.



Michael has over 30 years of managerial and executive experience and until
September last year was Chief Executive of Shanks Group plc, one of Europe's
largest waste management companies. After graduating from Imperial College,
London, he joined The Plessey Company plc in 1975 where he held various
managerial roles, before joining Herga Electric Ltd as Marketing Director in
1987. He joined Rechem Environmental Services plc in 1989 which was acquired by
Shanks Group plc in 1991. He was appointed Group Chief Executive in 1994.



Michael is currently non executive director of Care UK plc and TDG plc. Save for
these appointments there is no other information which requires disclosure under
the Listing Rules (LR 9.6.13) concerning his appointment.
