Speedy Hire is pleased to announce that the Office of Fair Trading has confirmed
that its proposed acquisition of the tool hire division ('Hewden Tools') of
Hewden Stuart Plc will not be referred to the Competition Commission.

The Company is accordingly on track for completion of the acquisition to take
place as scheduled after close of business on 31 July 2007.
