AGM Statement

Spirax-Sarco Engineering PLC 17 May 2007 17th May 2007 SPIRAX-SARCO ENGINEERING PLC AGM STATEMENT The Chairman, Mike Townsend, at today's AGM of Spirax-Sarco Engineering plc, which provides knowledge, service and products, including peristaltic pumps, worldwide for the control and efficient use of steam and other industrial fluids, said: 'You have all been sent a copy of the annual report and accounts which includes a detailed statement on the performance for the year ended 31st December 2006. It also outlines the reasons for our good performance, the intrinsic strengths of the business and why we are confident about the long term future of the Group. As far as 2007 is concerned, I have nothing to add to the 'Prospects' paragraph included in my statement which was written relatively recently in March. You may remember that I said 'We are currently faced with the continuing strength of sterling and, therefore, a likely adverse effect on the 2007 results, particularly in comparison with the first half of 2006. However, in most markets trading conditions remain firm and the year has started well, which, with the Group's fundamental strengths, should enable us to make further progress in 2007.'
