Appointment of Non-Executive Chairman
The Board of Spice plc ("Spice" or "the Group"), the provider of Total Utility Support Services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Cawdron as Non-Executive Chairman of Spice, with effect from 27 June 2008. At the same time Sir Rodney Walker has retired as Chairman and stepped down from the Board.
Peter Edward Blackburn Cawdron, aged 64, is a Chartered Accountant and currently Non-Executive Chairman of Punch Taverns plc and a Non-Executive Director of a number of companies including The Capita Group plc and BUPA. He was formerly Group Strategy Director at Grand Metropolitan plc and has previously been a Non-Executive Director of a number of companies.
Simon Rigby, Chief Executive Officer, commented:
"Following Sir Rodney's decision to stand down as Chairman of Spice, we have undertaken an extensive search process to identify the best candidate to be appointed as Chairman of Spice. I am delighted to welcome Peter to the Board in that capacity. He joins us ahead of the anticipated move to the Official List and at a very exciting stage of our development. Peter has a strong track record and a wealth of experience and I am very much looking forward to Spice benefiting from that experience.
Personally, and on behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Sir Rodney for his hard work, guidance and leadership over the past six years. Peter Cawdron was a Director of Ragged Bears Holdings Limited when it was dissolved in 2000. Ragged Bears Holdings Limited was a dormant company and had never traded.
