London, UK - 12 May 2010: Spirent Communications plc ("the Company") (LSE: SPT), a leading communications technology company, would like to notify the market in accordance with the Financial Services Authority's ("FSA") Disclosure and Transparency Rules of the following changes in the interests of a Director / Person Discharging Managerial Responsibility:

On 11 May 2010, Alex Walker, Chairman of the Company, purchased 20,000 Ordinary shares of 3 and 1/3 pence each in the Company at a price of 110 pence per Ordinary share.  The shares will be held jointly with Mr Walker's wife and were registered in the name of NY Nominees.

Following this transaction, Mr Walker has a beneficial interest in the Company of 50,000 Ordinary shares (0.007% of the Company's issued Ordinary Share capital at the date of this announcement) and holds no share incentive awards.
