DIRECTOR / PDMR SHAREHOLDING -

SPIRENT EMPLOYEE INCENTIVE PLAN (THE "PLAN")

London, UK - 9 May 2013: Spirent Communications plc ("the Company") (LSE: SPT), a leading communications technology company, would like to notify the market in accordance with the Financial Services Authority's ("FSA") Disclosure and Transparency Rules of the following changes in the interests of a Director / Person Discharging Managerial Responsibility:

On 8 May 2013, a combined award of Performance Shares and Stock Appreciation Rights over Ordinary Shares of 3 & 1/3 pence each was made to the following Directors / Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility under the Spirent Employee Incentive Plan:

The awards of Performance Shares, in the form of a conditional right to an award of shares will only be received by each individual if he remains employed by the Company on the vesting date (8 May 2016) and provided that the Company meets the performance conditions set by the Company's Remuneration Committee in respect of this award.

The awards of Stock Appreciation Rights, which have a base price of 129.1 pence per share, will vest on the third anniversary of the date of grant (8 May 2016) subject to the Company meeting the performance conditions set by the Remuneration Committee in respect of this award.
