SALE OF SENSING SOLUTIONS BUSINESS COMPLETED
Spirent plc, the international network technology company, has completed the
sale of its Sensing Solutions business to a company formed by GE Industrial
Systems, a division of General Electric Company of the United States,
following satisfaction of all conditions in the sale agreement. Spirent
announced the divestment of its Sensing Solutions business on 10 September
2001.
Nicholas Brookes, Chief Executive of Spirent, reiterated the comment made
when the sale was announced:
'The divestment of our Sensing Solutions business is the next step in our
strategy to focus on communications activities. We believe that the Sensing
Solutions business faces a promising future under its new owners who can
provide strong manufacturing and marketing resources to achieve its
potential.'
