SPIRENT PLC ANNOUNCES INTENTION TO LIST
ON NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE

Spirent plc, the international network technology company, today
announced plans to list its ordinary shares on the New York Stock
Exchange.  The listing is anticipated to occur on 10 July 2001.  The
shares, in the form of American Depositary Receipts (ADRs), will trade
under the ticker symbol  'SPM'. No new Spirent shares will be issued in
connection with the listing.

Nicholas Brookes, Chief Executive of Spirent plc, commented:

'The listing of our shares on NYSE is another significant development
for Spirent.  It will not only increase our visibility, but will further
reinforce our commitment to our customers, employees and investors in
the US.'
