                  NOTIFICATION OF DATE OF 2005 INTERIM RESULTS

London, UK - 13 July 2005: Spirent plc (LSE: SPT; NYSE: SPM), a leading
communications technology company, announces that it intends to release its
interim results for the first half of 2005 on Thursday 11 August 2005 before the
opening of the UK market.


The Company will host a results presentation at 09.00 UK time on Thursday 11
August 2005.  A simultaneous webcast of the presentation will be available on
