TRADING UPDATE

London, UK - 09 October 2008: Spirent Communications plc ("Spirent", the "Company" or the "Group") (LSE: SPT), a leading communications technology company, announces that, following completion of the third quarter of the financial year, trading for the period since 29 June 2008 is in line with the Board's expectations.

A full Interim Management Statement will be issued on 6 November, 2008.
