               SPORTECH WELCOMES CLEARANCE OF ZETTERS ACQUISITION


Sportech plc, the home gaming company and owner of the Littlewoods gaming and
betting brands, welcomes the decision by the Secretary of State for Trade and
Industry not to refer Sportech's purchase of Zetters International Pools
Limited, announced on 14 August 2002, to the Competition Commission.
