Sportech PLC 05 December 2002 Sportech plc Launches Interactive Pools and Games on Sky Active Sportech plc and British Sky Broadcasting today announce the launch of a new range of interactive pools, lotteries, instant win games and betting products on the Sky Active platform. These will be available in more than six million Sky digital homes across the UK, further enhancing the growing line-up of interactive services available on Sky Active. The initial offering from Sportech will include a variety of Littlewoods-branded pay to play football and numbers games, including Littlewoods Football Pools, offering a £2 Million Jackpot, the largest prize available through interactive television in the UK. Sportech plans to continue to add a variety of exciting new games to the service, in order to constantly capture interest and refresh the range of content available. Games will be available through Sky Active's Winzone portal and via the Interactive Service Menu behind Sky channels. This agreement demonstrates further progress by Sportech in achieving its strategy to deliver home based gaming opportunities to the widest audiences available. The Sky Active platform will complement Sportech's strategic gaming and betting partnership with the ITV network, announced earlier this year, and its existing multi-channel distribution activities. Colin McGill, Managing Director, Sportech plc, said: 'We are looking forward to providing an interactive service to Sky viewers, which complements Sky's commitment to sports coverage and its expertise in providing interactive entertainment. We anticipate that our football games in particular will have high appeal among Sky's dedicated football following.' Jon Florsheim, Managing Director, Sky Interactive, said: 'This partnership represents an important development for Sky Active. Betting is among the most successful interactive services on digital television so we are delighted that Littlewoods' strong brand and mass-appeal products will give Sky customers even more options to interact with their television.'
