                           Sportech PLC Market Update

Sportech PLC, owner of Littlewoods Gaming, provides the following market update.

As announced at the Interim results in September 2004 a £4m marketing campaign
was recently undertaken by the Littlewoods Football Pools business. The campaign
commenced at the start of the new football season in August 2004, and utilised
commercial television, newspaper advertising, direct mail and retail point of
sale materials. It focused on the Littlewoods Football Pools product and
strap-line 'Be Lucky'.

The campaign reached more than 18 million individuals, promoting the brand to
potential customers and endorsing the product to existing Littlewoods Football
Pools customers in the UK. Whilst the campaign has been successful in
re-activating recently lapsed customers the results in relation to the
recruitment of new direct and collector customers have been disappointing. It is
therefore expected that current market forecasts will be impacted by
approximately £3 million as a result of this one-off marketing campaign cost,
charged as non-recurring expenditure in the preliminary results for the year to
31 December 2004.

Littlewoods Football Pools remains one of Sportech's key businesses and the
marketing campaign has reinforced high awareness of this brand. Future
opportunities for the business are extended by clarification regarding
distribution of Football Pools products within the recently published Gambling
Bill. Once passed the Bill will allow Littlewoods Football Pools to complement
its existing range of established distribution channels with the introduction of
coupon completion and electronic scanning, transmission of entries, and payment
of prizes within retail outlets throughout the UK.
