Springfield Properties plc (AIM: SPR), a leading housebuilder in Scotland offering private and affordable housing, announces that Innes Smith, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, yesterday exercised options over 21,226 ordinary shares of 0.125 pence each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") at a price of 84.8p per Ordinary Share, under the Company's SAYE option plan.  

Following the exercise of options, Mr. Smith has an interest in 973,654¹ Ordinary Shares, representing 1.0% per cent. of the Company's enlarged issued share capital. In addition, he holds remaining options over 823,290 Ordinary Shares. 

¹  Includes the holdings of Innes Smith's wife, Eilidh Smith.
