Nick Baldwin has resigned, with immediate effect, from the Board of SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy plc) as a result of his appointment as the interim Chair of the Office for Nuclear Regulation. He joined the Board of SSE as a non-Executive Director in 2006.
Lord Smith of Kelvin, Chairman of SSE said:
"Nick was a valued member of the Board and brought to its deliberations substantial experience of, and perceptive insights into, the energy industry. That experience and those insights will serve him well in his new role with the Office for Nuclear Regulation, on which I congratulate him and with which I wish him well."
