ELECTRICITY DISTRIBUTION PRICE CONTROL REVIEW
Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution (SSEPD), part of SSE plc, has today confirmed it intends to accept Ofgem's final proposals for the electricity price control for the eight years from 1 April 2015 in respect of its Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution (SHEPD) and Southern Electric Power Distribution (SEPD) subsidiaries, subject to review of the final licence terms and conditions.
As stated on 28 November this will deliver an underlying reduction in the distribution share of the average household bill in SHEPD area of around £27 next year and in the SEPD area of around £18. SSEPD is committed to delivering improved network performance and customer service over the price control period while also providing a fair return to investors.
SSE Finance Director Gregor Alexander said; "This is a tight settlement that will require further efficiency savings against our business plan but we are focussed on delivering those efficiencies to ensure a fair return for investors while also delivering stronger, more robust networks for the 3.6m distribution customers who rely on us to keep the lights on."
