SSE announces its timetable in relation to the proposed final dividend of 56.1p per ordinary share for the year ended 31 March 2012.

Shareholders holding shares in certificated form who wish to participate in the Scrip Dividend Scheme should return their mandate forms (available from SSE's website, www.sse.com) to Capita Registrars so as to arrive no later than 24 August 2012.

Shareholders holding shares in certificated form who wish to withdraw from the Scrip Dividend Scheme should submit their written request to withdraw to Capita Registrars so as to arrive no later than 24 August 2012.

Shareholders who hold their shares in uncertificated form should consult their Crest sponsors as appropriate.
