                        SCOTTISH AND SOUTHERN ENERGY PLC
                           TRANSMISSION PRICE CONTROL

Scottish and Southern Energy plc ('SSE') has decided to accept Ofgem's final
proposals, announced on 17 December, for the price control for Scottish Hydro
Electric Transmission Limited for the two years to 31 March 2007, subject to the
proposals being fully reflected in the licence modifications.
