SJP Performance Share Plan 2005 ("PSP")
SJP announces that on 2 March 2009 the following executive Directors and Persons
Discharging Managerial Responsibilities ("PDMRs") were granted nil cost options
under the terms of the annual PSP grant which was approved by shareholders at
the Annual General Meeting held on 12 May 2005:

The awards entitle participants to acquire up to a maximum amount of SJP
ordinary 15p shares.  The actual amount of SJP shares that may be acquired on
vesting of an award is dependent on the achievement of prescribed performance
targets over a three-year performance period that commenced on 1 January 2009
and will end on 31 December 2011.  Two thirds of an award will be dependent on
growth in adjusted earnings per share and one third on total shareholder return.

Accounts.

Deferred Bonus Scheme Award
On 4 March 2009, SJP will award the following shares to the executive Directors
and Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility ("PDMRs") named below under
the Deferred Bonus Scheme for the year ended 31 December 2008.

Under the scheme rules, the shares are held by SJP on behalf of the executive
Directors and PDMRs for a restricted period which will end on 4 March 2012 until
that date the shares are subject to forfeiture, for example if the executive
leaves SJP.

These transactions have arisen from the transfer of shares in SJP to the
executive Directors and PDMRs by S G Hambros Trust Company (Channel Islands)
Limited, trustees of the Company's Deferred Bonus Scheme.
