Sir Mark Weinberg, Executive Chairman of St. James's Place Capital plc ('SJPC
') has today notified SJPC that he has today sold 250,000 SJPC ordinary shares
of 15p each at a price of 407.5p each. In addition, the trustees of a trust
of which he is a discretionary beneficiary have also today sold 750,000
ordinary shares of 15p each at a price of 407.5p each.
Following the above sales, Sir Mark Weinberg's interests in ordinary shares of
SJPC are as follows:
Beneficial: 3,233,488
Non-beneficial: 0
With the exception of the changes notified above, Sir Mark Weinberg's
interests in ordinary shares of SJPC are unchanged.
Sir Mark Weinberg commented on this sale as follows: 'The sales today of
1,000,000 SJPC shares are for personal and family reasons. I am committed to
retaining my remaining shareholding of 3,233,488 shares as a long term
investment.'

Mr Anthony Loehnis, non-Executive Director of St. James's Place Capital plc ('
SJPC') has also today notified the Company that he has today exercised options
over 33,332 ordinary 15p shares of SJPC at an exercise price of 157p per share
and sold the said 33,332 shares of 15p each at a price of 407.5p each.
Following the above transactions, the interests of Mr Loehnis in ordinary
shares of SJPC are as follows:
Beneficial: 6,062
Non-beneficial: 0
