St. James's Place Capital plc ('the Company')
Mr David Bellamy and Mr Ian Gascoigne, both executive directors of the Company,
today notified the Company that the options granted on 23 May 2002 under the
Executive Share Option Scheme 2000 to acquire the following ordinary shares of
15p each in the Company at an exercise price of £2.40 per share, have lapsed in
accordance with the Scheme rules as a result of the performance condition which
applied to these options not being met.

Ian Gascoigne 109,375 £2.40 per share
With the exception of the changes notified above, Mr Bellamy's and Mr
Gascoigne's, interests in ordinary shares of the Company are unchanged.
