The Board of Directors of Standard Chartered PLC announced today that Ho
KwonPing, 53, will retire from the Board with effect from the conclusion of the
next Annual General Meeting on 4 May 2006. He has been a non-executive director
since 1996.
Bryan Sanderson, Chairman of Standard Chartered PLC, said: 'KwonPing has served
for more than nine years on the Board and I would like to thank him for the
valuable contribution he has made during this important period for the Group.'
Mr Ho has confirmed that there is nothing which needs to be brought to the
attention of the holders of securities of Standard Chartered PLC in respect of
his retirement.
