Standard Chartered PLC announces that Michael Green (53) Group Executive
Director with responsibility for Technology and Year 2000 Compliance will step
down from the Board at the time of the Annual General Meeting on 11th May 2000.
Sir Patrick Gillam, Chairman, commented 'Over the past few years Mick Green has
substantially modernised our approach to risk management, rationalised the
management of technology and successfully delivered our Year 2000 implementation
plan. I am most grateful for the significant contribution Mick has made to
Standard Chartered over the past six years'.
Group Executive Director, Mervyn Davies, in addition to his responsibilities for
Hong Kong, China and North East Asia, will take over Mick Green's technology
portfolio.
