STANDARD CHARTERED PLC - US$ COMPARATIVE

Standard Chartered PLC will be reporting in US dollars (US$) from the Interim
Results 2001, which will be announced on 1st August, 2001.  In preparation for
this, Standard Chartered PLC has posted US$ comparatives on its website
(www.standardchartered.com), restating historic financial information for the
period of the 6 months ended 30.6.00 and the 6 months ended 31.12.00,
previously reported in UK pounds sterling (£).
