Transaction in own shares
Standard Chartered PLC ("SC") announces that today it purchased the following number of its ordinary shares of US$0.50 each from J.P. Morgan Securities plc ("JPM Securities"), pursuant to the share buy-back programme previously outlined on 1 August 2022 (the "Programme").
Following the purchase of these shares, the Programme that commenced on 1 August 2022 has completed. Since the commencement of the Programme, the Company has repurchased for cancellation 73,073,837 ordinary shares at a volume weighted average price of £5.9238 per ordinary share for an aggregate consideration of approximately US$500 million.

All ordinary shares purchased today were bought back on the London Stock Exchange.
SC intends to cancel the purchased shares.
Following the cancellation of the purchased shares, SC will have 2,894,749,855 ordinary shares in issue. Therefore, the total number of voting rights in SC will be 723,687,463 .
Any share purchases pursuant to the Programme will be effected in accordance with certain pre-set parameters and limits, and in accordance with applicable law and regulation as described in more detail in SC's announcement of 1 August 2022.
