Government Announcement on shale exploration

The Board of IGas welcomes the announcement this morning by the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change with respect to the recommencement of shale exploration in the UK.

Andrew Austin, CEO of IGas Energy, commented:

"The recent UK Government's Gas strategy publication and today's announcement on the recommencement of shale exploration in the UK are hugely important for both the industry and the country.  Natural gas from shale and coal bed methane has the potential to transform the UK's energy market and economy.
