Statnett publishes updated Green Bond Framework and receives "Dark Green" shading from S&P

Statnett has published its updated Green Bond Framework fully aligned with EU Taxonomy including Technical Screening Criteria, Do No Significant Harm Assessment and Minimum Social Safeguard Assessment. The update is a part of Statnett's ongoing commitment to maintain a market-aligned Framework, reflecting latest best practices and standards and to enable a green and sustainable energy transition.

The updated Framework covers Eligible Green Projects and Assets from the ICMA "Renewable Energy" category. NatWest has acted as structuring advisor on the updated Green Bond Framework.

Statnett established its first Green Bond Framework in 2018 and has since issued Green Bonds totalling NOK ~19.5bn. Statnett sees the Green Bond market as its main source of long-term funding going forward.

Hilde Tonne, President and CEO of Statnett underlines the importance of sustainability in Statnett's activities:

- Sustainability is an integral part of all our plans and processes in order to realize our ambitions. Our grid needs to be built with minimal impact to the environment, with acceptance from society and stakeholders and as efficiently as possible.

S&P Global Ratings has provided a second-party opinion confirming the Framework's alignment with the International Capital Market Association's (ICMA) Green Bond Principles. The Framework has received a "Dark Green" shading under S&P Global Ratings' updated "Shades of Green" methodology, in line with the rating on the previous framework.

The Framework and SPO are enclosed and also available on Statnett's website
