The Company has been advised today (5 April 2001) that on 2 April 2001, Mrs
Virginia Flanagan (wife of Andrew Flanagan, Chief Executive and a director of
the Company) purchased 3,290 SMG plc ordinary shares of 2.5p each at a price
of 210p per share.
