Information regarding director's awards under the SMG plc Performance Share
Plan and the SMG plc Executive Option scheme was attached in error. These
awards have not been made.
All other details remain unchanged.

The Company has been advised today (12 September 2001) that on 11 September
2001 the following directors increased their interests in SMG plc ordinary
shares of 2.5p.
