SMG Chief Executive Steps Down
SMG plc ('SMG') announces today that Andrew Flanagan is stepping down from his
position as Chief Executive of the Group with immediate effect and by mutual
agreement with the Board.
The Board has appointed Donald Emslie, currently Chief Executive of SMG's
Television business, as Acting Chief Executive of the Group. The recruitment
process to select a permanent successor will commence immediately.
Chris Masters, SMG's Chairman, said:
'Andrew has made an outstanding contribution to the development of SMG in his 10
years as Chief Executive and the Group is well positioned to capitalise on the
strength of its brands through the opportunities that digital technology
presents. It has been a personal privilege to have worked with Andrew and, on
behalf of the Board, I would like to thank him for his role in restructuring the
shape of SMG and helping to position the Group for future growth.
'In Donald Emslie we have an Acting Chief Executive with over 20 years'
experience in the UK media sector, who has been a Board member for seven years.
I am confident that under Donald's stewardship we will continue to make progress
in implementing the Group's ambitious growth plans.'
