SMG Appoints New Non-Executive Director
SMG plc announces with effect from today (Monday, 4 September) the appointment
as a non-executive director of Steve Maine, Chief Executive of Kingston
Communications (HULL) PLC.
Steve has extensive experience of telecommunications, and in the area of new
media. He was appointed to his current post in October 1997. Prior to that
time he had held a number of senior positions within BT.
Commenting on the appointment, Don Cruickshank, Chairman of SMG plc, said:
'Steve's considerable experience within the telecommunications industry,
coupled with his knowledge of new media, will be of considerable benefit to
SMG as the inevitable convergence of the communications sector progresses.'
Steve Maine said:

the experience I have from the telecoms sector to a growing company, operating
in one of the most dynamic areas of business today.'
There are no matters which require to be intimated under paragraphs 6.F.2 (b)
- (g) of the Listing Rules in respect of this appointment.
