DISCOVERY'S DAN KORN HEADS TO STV PRODUCTIONS

STV Productions has today announced the appointment of Dan Korn as a new creative director, reporting to Alan Clements, director of content. In this role, Dan will have a particular focus on specialist factual and returnable programming.
Dan joins STV Productions from Discovery Networks International where he has fulfilled a number of leading creative and project roles over the past decade, most recently as head of special projects. He was previously Discovery's head of programming for UK and Western Europe.
Speaking about his new role Korn said: "I'm very excited to be embarking on this new challenge which will give me the opportunity to develop and produce different factual strands of STV Productions' work. I loved working for Discovery but the time has come for a new challenge and I'm looking forward to the next chapter of my career."
Talking about the latest addition to the STV team, Alan Clements said: "Dan is known throughout the industry for his creativity and he joins STV with an impressive production portfolio. I'm looking forward to welcoming him to STV and to the company benefitting from his extensive and varied experience."
Dan Korn will be based at STV Productions' office in London and will take up his new role in August.
About Dan Korn
Dan Korn played a key role in a number of projects at Discovery including the channel launches of Quest and Investigation Discovery in the UK. For several years he was closely involved with the creative success of Discovery Channel UK.
As Head of Programming for UK and Western Europe, he initiated a number of Discovery's leading programming franchises including Salvage Hunters, The James Cracknell Unstoppable Trilogy, Walking The Amazon with Ed Stafford, HMS Ark Royal and Bear Grylls: Born Survivor.
Latterly, he oversaw projects including Tony Robinson's World War I series for Discovery UK and Sky 3D, together with a trilogy of VE-Day documentaries, including Churchill and Me with Hugh Dennis and Tony Robinson's Victory in Europe.
