New Director for SMG
SMG plc ('SMG') announces that Martyn Smith is joining the Group's Board as a
non-executive director. He will join the SMG Board following the Group's Annual
General Meeting on 3 June.
Currently Finance Director of the international car hire business, Avis Europe
plc (since 2002), Martyn was formerly Finance Director of John Menzies plc
(1999-2002), before which he worked with Inchcape plc and Rothmans
International.
He is a qualified accountant and holds a Masters in Finance from London Business
School.
Upon his appointment, Martyn will take on the role of Chairman of the Audit
Committee, following the retirement of Calum MacLeod.
SMG Chairman, Chris Masters, said:

financial management and the City, coupled with his broad commercial skills
will, I am sure, prove to be extremely valuable as we continue to develop and
grow the SMG businesses.'
Martyn Smith said:

industry in the UK. SMG has some great brands and ambitious plans and I intend
to play a full part in helping the Group to achieve these.'
