SMG plc ('SMG') announces today (16 November, 2000) that Peter Cadbury, a
Non-Executive Director and a member of the Company's Audit Committee,  has
resigned from the Board of SMG with effect from 1 December, 2000.  

SMG Chairman, Don Cruickshank, said:

'On behalf of the Board and SMG's shareholders overall, I would like to thank
Peter for his contribution to SMG during a period of significant growth in
scale, business scope and shareholder value.  On behalf of all those who have
