Result of SMG plc Extraordinary General Meeting
SMG plc announces that, at its Extraordinary General Meeting held today (24
January 2003), the resolution proposed to approve the disposal by SMG Publishing
Limited of the entire issued share capital of each of SMG Sunday Newspapers
Limited, SMG Magazines Limited, s1now Limited, Caledonian Publishing Limited,
CPB Consultants Limited, Delphic Interactive Limited, George Outram & Company
Limited and The Glasgow Citizen and Advertiser Limited to Gannett U.K. Limited
was passed.
The disposal is still subject to the approval of the Secretary of State for
Trade & Industry pursuant to section 58(1) of the Fair Trading Act 1973. An
announcement in this regard is expected in March or April 2003.
