Notification of Major Interests in Shares
SMG plc announces that it was notified on Friday 16 March 2007 by Morgan Stanley
Investment Management Limited that as at that date it was interested in a total
of 30,729,568 shares (9.72%) in SMG. These shares are held across various client
accounts with one client, the Van Kampen Global Franchise Fund, individually
holding 13,249,961 shares (4.19%). Each share carries one vote.
The notification has been made under the FSA's Implementation of the
Transparency Directive Transitional Provisions.
