POSITIVE DIAMOND SAMPLING RESULTS

Sunrise Resources plc, the AIM traded diversified mineral exploration and development specialist, is pleased to report positive diamond sampling results from first phase drill samples from its Cue diamond project in Western Australia. The news follows on from the discovery of two new surface occurrences of kimberlite announced in December 2012.

Highlights:

·     All samples contain microdiamonds

·     Total of 244 microdiamonds recovered from 505kg kimberlite processed.

·     3 diamonds exceed 0.5mm in size; 8 diamonds exceed 0.4mm in size.

·     Results being submitted for expert evaluation

·     Follow up drilling planned

Commenting today, Executive Chairman Patrick Cheetham said: "I am pleased that drill sampling has confirmed the results of surface sampling, with all of the drill samples returning a significant number of diamonds."

"These results will now be submitted for expert evaluation alongside the results from microprobe analysis of various kimberlite indicator minerals from the drill samples which the Board expects will provide additional information on the economic potential of the Cue1 kimberlite. In the meantime we are planning a programme of follow-up drilling which will include drill testing of the largest of the newly discovered kimberlite surface occurrences reported last month, where we already have Aboriginal heritage clearance. This is an exciting project where we feel we have only just scratched the surface."

The six samples being reported are from three different percussion drill holes intersecting the Cue 1 kimberlite - CURC 6, CURC 10 and CURC 11. For each drill hole one sample (marked with asterisk) contains only a low level of granite wall-rock contamination/inclusions whilst the other contains a higher level of contamination which might be expected to dilute the diamond grade of the kimberlite. The samples were processed by caustic fusion by Saskatchewan Research Council Geoanalytical Laboratories Diamond Services (SRC) which is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2005. The results of diamond picking by SRC from various sieve sizes are presented in the following table:

From a total of 505kg of kimberlite and mixed kimberlite/granite wall rock, 244 microdiamonds were recovered. Of those, 41% were white, 57% were off-white and only 2% grey or brown. In addition 92% were transparent, 88% showed no inclusions or only minor inclusions and 31% were fragments.

Three of the diamonds recovered by SRC had at least one dimension greater than 0.5mm:

2

3

N.B. Diamonds having a long axis greater than a particular sieve size can pass through that sieve size when the short axis of the diamond is smaller than that sieve size and so report in a lower sieve size range.
