Sunrise Diamonds plc ('Sunrise' or 'the Company') is pleased to announce that it
has, this week, started an extensive field programme to follow up diamond
targets in Finland resulting from its detailed analysis of the BHP Billiton
diamond database for Finland and the recently announced joint venture agreement
with Canada's Nordic Diamonds Ltd.
Twenty target areas have been selected for follow up geochemical sampling. They
include areas where diamonds and kimberlitic indicator minerals have been found
in the surface sediments but where the primary kimberlitic source remains to be
discovered.
The targets are located in three main areas - in the diamondiferous Kaavi-Kuopio
and Kuusamo kimberlite clusters and in a new region, now called 'Area 3' by the
Company, where claims and claim reservations have been secured over a number of
priority magnetic targets.
The Company also wishes to advise that the 200kg sample taken from the recently
discovered Lampi kimberlite at Kuusamo is currently being processed for its
diamond content at Kennecott Laboratories in Canada. A smaller sample from
Lampi, weighing 10kg, recently returned five micro-diamonds. The results from
the new, larger sample are expected within the next few weeks.
