Launch of ChemBioConnect
CambridgeSoft and Imaginatik launch Visual Collaboration Tool for Scientists
Imaginatik plc (AIM: IMTK), a leading provider of enterprise collaboration software, announces the launch of ChemBioConnect, an online collaboration tool for use by researchers in the chemistry, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
Developed in conjunction with CambridgeSoft, ChemBioConnect allows scientists to draw, view, edit, archive and search chemical structures and biological systems in a secure, robust collaboration and idea management environment. The resource effectively allows for collaborative problem-solving among scientists by combining CambridgeSoft's chemically intelligent visual toolsets with Imaginatik's research-based, enterprise-scale system, comprised of software, services and a deep understanding of how human networks operate. This offering is targeted to meet the needs of research and development professionals in the areas of pharmaceuticals, bioscience, biotechnology, chemistry and food science.
'Professional chemists think and communicate visually, whether doodling on paper, working in teams at a whiteboard, or keeping a notebook,' said Dr. Robin Spencer, Senior Research Fellow at Pfizer, Inc. 'At Pfizer we have seen that marrying the ability to work visually with a secure collaborative innovation environment like ChemBioConnect gives our scientists a scalable and secure new way to capture ideas and solve challenging problems.'
'Collaboration is vital in all forms of business activity, and chemistry and biology are not exceptions to this rule,' said Mark Turrell, CEO of Imaginatik. 'ChemBioConnect is the first in a series of industry specific modules of our core collaboration software platform, Idea Central, which we intend to launch in the years ahead, supporting our growth and market leadership position.'
'We are pleased to be working together with Imaginatik,' said Michael G. Tomasic, President and CEO of CambridgeSoft. 'With this collaboration we are ensuring that our customers benefit from the integration of CambridgeSoft's leading chemical and biological drawing software, ChemBioDraw, with Imaginatik's innovation engine to drive collaborative problem solving for new research insights and higher efficiency.'
ChemBioConnect is being sold by Imaginatik with support from CambridgeSoft.
