      APPLICATION FOR CANCELLATION OF LISTING ON THE OFFICIAL LIST OF 
                      THE LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE

Signature Restaurants plc ('Signature') announces that today it is applying to
the UKLA for cancellation of the listing of the Signature Shares on the Official
List of the London Stock Exchange. Signature Shareholders should note that, as a
result, the cancellation of the listing will be effective from 17 February 2003.
Accordingly, from 17 February 2003 Signature will cease to be a listed company
and there will be no publicly traded market for Signature Shares.
