                   Signature Restaurants PLC ('the Company')


The Independent Directors of Signature Restaurants note the recent rise in the
share price of the Company.

The Independent Directors wish to inform shareholders that a preliminary
conditional approach has been received which may or may not lead to an offer
being made for the entire issued share capital of the Company. At this stage it
is too early to assess the likelihood of any offer being made. A further
announcement will be made when necessary.
