Director Dealings

The Company announces that yesterday Professor David Clark, a director of the
Company, yesterday sold 10,000 shares in the Company at a price of 83p, and Mr
Julio Faria, director, sold 10,000 shares at a price of 85.7p. In addition Mr
Faria sold 25,000 shares today at 72p a share, Professor Clark has sold 10,000
shares at 77p a share and Professor Clark's wife, Mrs J C Clark, has also sold
10,000 shares at a price of 75p per share.

Following these sales Professor Clark has an interest in 994,661 shares in the
Company representing 10.53 per cent of the issued share capital of the Company,
and Julio Faria has an interest in 2,326,845 shares in the Company representing
24.64 per cent of the issued share capital of the Company.

These sales follow the purchases of 74,700 shares in aggregate made by directors
Kevin D'Silva and Peter Holland announced on 5 December.
